Step 3: Choose an Art Style That Matches Your Genre

Below the prompt field, you will find the Style selector. You can pick from a set of curated preset styles that completely transform the mood of the AI-generated design, or leave it on Default / Wing It and let your prompt do the talking. You can also describe your own artistic direction right in the prompt itself for total creative control.

Do not see your direction in the presets? Describe the artistic style in your prompt, such as "dark gothic oil painting with crimson and black tones" or "neon graffiti street art with dripping paint." Results vary, so inspect the output rather than assuming every requested detail will appear.

Earlier Workflow Step 4: Add Your Band Logo

In the May 2026 workflow, a customer could upload a band logo and overlay it on AI-generated artwork. Direct logo upload is not currently available for a new T-shirt design. Logo drag-and-drop is coming soon, but no launch date is promised.

How the Earlier Add Logo Feature Worked

  • • Transparent PNG upload. The earlier control accepted a PNG with a transparent background.
  • • Logo position. The retired dropdown offered several fixed positions.
  • • Band Style. The earlier layout placed an uploaded logo above the generated artwork.
  • • Account reuse. The earlier experience could retain the uploaded asset for later compatible designs.

Pro Tip: Transparent PNG Is Key

This note applied to the retired upload control: a solid image background covered the artwork beneath it, while transparency allowed the artwork to remain visible. It is not a current T-shirt upload instruction.

Earlier Workflow Step 5: Add a QR Code

The May 2026 version included a QR option for the back of a T-shirt. New T-shirt designs do not currently offer QR placement or back printing. The link ideas below remain useful when planning a QR product that actually lists that feature, including supported Smizzy stickers and magnets.

What to Link Your QR Code To

  • • Your latest single or album on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, or Amazon Music.
  • • A YouTube music video or lyric video for visual impact.
  • • Your Bandcamp page where fans can buy music and merch directly from you.
  • • Your band website with tour dates, bio, discography, and booking info.
  • • A Linktree or bio link that gives fans access to all your platforms in one tap.
  • • A SoundCloud profile for underground and independent producers.
  • • A pre-save link for an upcoming release to build hype before drop day.

In the earlier workflow, the Back Text field provided the call to action above the QR code. Examples included "LISTEN NOW," "HEAR THE NEW ALBUM," and "SCAN FOR MUSIC."

Step 6: Describe Your Band Name or Song Title

For a current front-print design, include any desired band name, album title, song name, tour year, or short phrase in quotation marks in your prompt. Describe the lettering style and check the generated spelling carefully before ordering.

Front Text Ideas for Band Tees

  • • Your band name in all caps for maximum impact.
  • • An album title like "VOLUME II" or "MIDNIGHT SESSIONS."
  • • A song lyric or one-liner that fans will recognize.
  • • A tour year like "SUMMER TOUR 2026" to create limited-edition feel.
  • • A tagline like "TURN IT UP" or "NOISE NEVER DIES."

Step 7: Generate Your Band T-Shirt Design

For a current design, hit GENERATE CONCEPT and review the generated artwork and front-print product preview. Generation time and output can vary.

Earlier screenshots in this guide may show logo or back-view controls that are not part of the new T-shirt workflow. The current preview and the final cart and checkout details are the authority for what will be ordered.

Not feeling it? Use the Edit This Design tool when available. Type something like "make the flames bigger" or "switch the background to darker tones," then review the whole result because an edit can change other details. The generator shows the current credit cost.

Step 8: Save, Share, or Order Your Merch

Once you are stoked on the design, you have a few options:

Save Draft

Save the design to your personal draft gallery while the current controls allow it. The generator shows the applicable draft limit and retention period.

Share with Your Band

Share links can help bandmates review a current design. A new T-shirt share reflects the current front-print offer and does not add a back-print option.

Add to Cart and Order

Choose from the sizes and colors currently shown, set the quantity, and add the shirt to the cart. Checkout displays the available payment methods, item price, shipping, and total before payment. The selected Gildan 5000 shirt is made to order and shipped to a United States address.
